Rhenda Saporito is an abstract painter working primarily on large unstretched canvases which allows for broad strokes, engaging the whole body in the process. With no regard for the end result, the path takes her into and out of chaos. The painting becomes pared down and the viewer may find a resting place. Her paintings are visual expressions of previous experiences. Participating in workshops and residencies with several internationally known artists and studies at the New Orleans Academy of Fine Arts furthers her practice.

Saporito’s work has been juried into museum shows and collected by a museum as well as featured in local and international magazines. Her paintings are in numerous private and public collections nationwide.
