M C Bank is proud to highlight the leadership and community involvement of our Chief Marketing Officer, Nick Ludwig, as he helped lead the Covington Celtic Club's 7th Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade on Sunday, March 16th. Nick has been a driving force behind the club since its inception, helping to create a meaningful tradition that celebrates Celtic heritage and brings the Covington community and its surrounding areas together.
The Covington Celtic Club was formed in 2015 by a group of friends with Irish blood in their veins—but the spark that lit the flame came from one of the founding members’ great-grandfather: John J. Sheahan. A native of Limerick, Ireland, Sheahan later settled on Madison Avenue in New York City and served as chairman of the New York City St. Patrick’s Day Parade from 1939 to 1958. He remains one of the parade’s longest-serving leaders and is most famously remembered for bringing President Harry S. Truman to the 1948 parade—marking the first time a sitting U.S. President attended the event.
This legacy of Irish pride and leadership helped inspire the founding of the Covington Celtic Club, which now brings that same spirit to the heart of historic downtown Covington. The annual parade is a celebration not only of St. Patrick’s Day, but of the vibrant traditions, music, and culture of Ireland—carried on by Irish descendants and friends of all backgrounds.
This year's parade, a lively walking parade through downtown Covington, once again filled the streets with music, costumes, and festive spirit. As a founding member and leader of this year’s event, Nick played a key role in organizing and guiding the beloved local tradition.
M C Bank was also proud to be a sponsor of this year's parade, supporting the club’s mission of promoting culture, fun, and community spirit. Our sponsorship reflects M C Bank’s continued commitment to being more than a bank, by investing in the people, organizations, and celebrations that make our communities special.
